A total of ten workshops were carried out - five in the Halifax Regional Municipality and one each in Sydney, Antigonish, Truro, Cornwallis and Yarmouth. Target audiences were growth companies, university researchers interested in research commercialization and RDA and economic development personnel. Participants covered 19 different industry sectors with strong representation from ICT, consumer products, agriculture and aquaculture, tourism, manufacturing, life sciences and marine. Their companies serve an equally wide range of markets. All the information collected at these workshops was compiled into a report and launched at the Access to Capital MIKE Debate on December 9, 2005. To download a copy of this report, click here. The Coalition on Immigration Submission Paper October 15, 2004 Release In the closing minutes of the June 2004 MIKE Debate, participants considered the question "Where do we go from here?" Their answers: define our attitudes on immigration; work closer with the federal government; make it easier for professionals to practice here; be more welcoming to our immigrants; and the bottom line - we must come together with a sense of urgency, if we want to improve our immigration track record.
